NewsPolicyJSA's annual Contractor Expectation Survey has found that more than 60% of the UK's IT contractors expect their salaries to increase by between 5-10% in 2008. The downturn in the commercial property market is threatening jobs within the sector with property recruitment consultants reporting that staff hirings have stopped in many areas. Trends/PracticeAccording to research by Unity Personnel many employers are no longer interested in seeing the interests section of applicants' CVs and are instead asking for these to be removed. CompaniesYour Jobs Group will launch an industry specific job board called Your Retail Jobs on 16 January, with plans for a second industry specific job board to launch in August 2008. Paddy Burtt and Pip Bull have led a management buy-in at Joyce Guiness Partnership in a deal part funded by the Royal Bank of Scotland. Hays have reported a 23% growth in group net fees in the quarter ended December 31 from the same period the previous year. Michael Page International has reported a 37.6% rise in fourth quarter profits to £128.2m, while the full-year result was up 37.1% to £478.1m. Huntress Group has launched Huntress Legal, a new legal division that will focus on the placement of lawyers, legal secretaries and non-qualified support staff into private practice on a permanent or temporary basis.
