News

Policy

The European Commission has reached a unanimous agreement on the Temporary Agency Workers Directive following a compromise that will allow the UK to start offering temporary workers the same rights as permanent employees after 12 weeks of employment instead of from the start of employment.

Market

A survey of interim chief executives and directors by Alium Partners has found that the companies they are working for are experiencing a decline in sales, a freeze on recruiting permanent employees and job cuts.

The KPMG/ REC monthly employment survey for June found that the number of people being placed in permanent jobs by recruitment agencies fell at its fastest rate in over 5 years.

Mishcon de Reya Workshops

The next in our series of Recruitment Services Group Workshops held in association with REC and Recruiter Magazine will be on Thursday 6 November. The workshop entitled Immigration Law Revisited will be  focusing on the changes to immigration laws with specific reference to the updates to the Points Based System (PBS) and logistics of tier 2.

On Tuesday 2 December we will be holding a workshop entitled Employees and Data Theft - Fighting the Threat Within.
